Miserable weather on this first day of spring (chance of snow in the DFW area), but lovely inside!
Both of his chest tubes have been pulled!
He's still on the ventilator, but down to room air (21%)!
They have turned off the fentanyl drip, which is the pain medication they've been giving him to keep him sedated.
This is in anticipation of possibly extubating (removing the breathing tube) around lunch!
They've also weaned the dopamine down to 7mcg.
They've also increased his feedings to 10mL every 3 hours. He's tolerating them well, although he did have one large spit-up this morning.
They are going to take out one of his umbilical lines as well. They say as soon as both umbilical lines are out we can hold him!!
Very, very excited!

ReplyDeleteVery, very excited for you! Earlier in the week, we couldn't image the pain you were going through and we hurt for you. Now, I'm sure, we can scarcely imagine the joy! We have enough of our own . . . and we're just the great-aunt and great-uncle. ;^) We love y'all so much!
